Painter Heather Foster captures fleeting moments on canvas and she does so with a magical intensity. Currently, she is captivated by the personalities of farm animals. heather depicts the relationships of the animals to one another and their surroundings, as well as to the viewer in a very amusing and charming way.

She lures the audience into her world initially with the clever composition and then shows the viewer the painting's multifaceted levels. She does this by enabling the viewer to see the process that has brought her art to what the eye presently sees. The layers, a visible adding and scraping away, allow the process to become the composition.

Heather received her BFA in Fine Arts in May 1990 from the Maryland Institute College of Art, in Baltimore, MD. While there she was the recipient of many coveted scholarships. her work has been exhibited in DC, NY, MD, NM and CO and is currently available at the Basalt Gallery (Basalt, CO), The Finer Side Gallery (Salisbury, MD and Wash. DC) and Qi, An Art Space (Brooklyn, NY).
