When Linda first moved to the Roaring Fork Valley in the mid 70's, she was immediately taken with everything "Colorado". Her watercolors began to depict her new loves - Rocky Mountain wild flowers, wild animals and the Wild West. She quickly became well known for her realistic interpretations of wildflower and cactus, rodeos, ranch life, and cowboys with all their "stuff." Linda was honored to have her painting "Box Canyon Ambush" grace the cover of "Art of the American West." Among the many awards she has won, Best Watercolor and Best of Show at the esteemed American Academy of Women Artists Signature Show thrilled her the most. She has been asked by Peggy Moreland, western novelist, to use her work in an upcoming series of novels. Her work is also in the watercolor art book, "Splash 8", 150 of the best contemporary watercolors.National publications featuring Linda's work include: US Art, Western Horseman, Inform Art and Cowboys & Indians. She has been invited to create posters for numerous cowboy events including: Cowboy Gathering, Durango, CO., Snowmass Village Rodeo, Snowmass, CO., Single Action Shooters Society, Norco, CA., Livestock Exposition, Billings, MT. And, as always, Linda is having a grand time playing with a medium that can easily frustrate the most accomplished artist.
Invitations include: Art in the Emabassies, Kingston, Jamaica , Cowgirl Up, Wickenburg, AZ., Night of Artists, San Antonio, TX., National Western Art Exhibition, San Dimas, CA. where she was awarded BEST OF SHOW and BEST WATERCOLOR, and AAWA Show at the Desert Caballeros Western Museum, Wickenburg, AZ where she won BEST OF SHOW and BEST WATERCOLOR.
